With a historic victory over India, Nepal in the final

Kathmandu – After a decade of wait and hard systematic training finally rewarded to the Nepali women’s football team as they have defeated India by 1 -0 and reach the final of the game.

Nepal reaches the final by defeating India in the second semi-final in SAFF women’s championship played on their own home ground yesterday scoring 1 goal to 0 at Dasharath Stadium, Kathmandu.

Rashmikumari Ghising scored for Nepal in the injury time of the first half. Ghising converted Preeti Rai’s cross into a goal from the penalty area.

This is a historic victory of Nepal over India. Nepal has won the first victory over India in the history of SAFF women. Along with this, while Nepal reached the final for the fifth time, India failed to reach the final for the first time. India is the winner of all previous editions. With India’s defeat, the tournament will have a new SAFF women’s champion.

Nepal has not yet lost in the ongoing tournament. Nepal entered the semi-finals after winning all the matches in the group stage.

Now Nepal will play Bangladesh in the final. In today’s first semi-final, Bangladesh defeated Bhutan by 8-0 goals and reached the final. The final match will start at 5 pm on Monday.
