13 AUGUST 2014, KATHMANDU – Law Enforcement agencies has their duties to file any criminal incidents if there is someone to complain about the incident but in our country, Police and even the courts refuse the cases to register. Similarly, Nepal Police had refused to register a complaint against those involved in the case of killing of gangster Dinesh Adhikari alias ‘Chari’ who was murdered in police encounter.

Adhikari’s elder brother Dhruba Adhikari of Achane Taar of Tripureshwor VDC of Dhading District said they went to Metropolitan Police Range in Hanumandhoka to register the complaint against those involved in his brother’s “murder” but returned after the complaint was not

registered. He said they will now file the complaint at the Supreme Court and seek help from human rights organisations as well. According to his statement, his brother was preparing to surrender to the Police to clear his gangster image and back to civilian life once he have completed his jail term that could have imposed by the courts. The killing of any criminal in such manner is inhuman and each individual in the country have rights to practice the law that should be equal to everyone.

According to police and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam, the gangster was gunned down at Bhimdhunga, seven kilometres from Sitapaila, in the Capital last Wednesday by police in the act of self defence. Adhikari’s family members, however, have been claiming that police made up the story after killing him in a “fake encounter”.

There are certain questions rises after Killing of Chari that what would be the next for those who was once supporting him and using him as their carder, and those who involve in such politics and gangs who are still at large.

Two involved in earlier gang fight with chari Radhe Bhandari and his friend sent to jail after convicting of attempt of murder and wrong doing by a court yesterday.
