NOV 09, 2013 – TAPLEJUNG, NEPAL -As Election Day for the second constituent assembly in Nepal is Nearing, violent attacks between political parties and closure of the area are in rise through out the country. In a similar event today, At least seven people were injured when a bomb went off at CPN-UML ‘s election assembly in Khokling VDC, Taplejung district on Saturday. Man named Man Bahandur B.K. and another person whose identity has not been ascertained as yet have sustained serious injuries.
Padam Magar, Renuka Adhikari, Tulasa Thapa, Nirmala Adhikari and Yagya B.K have been identified as the ones who have been injured in the bomb attack .
The injured have been brought to the District Hospital for treatment, said the locals. Police said that two grenades were thrown at the assembly, out of which one exploded immediately while the other did not.
DSP Govinda Acharya informed that a special team of Nepal Army had reached the site to defuse the unexploded grenade.
The identity of the ones who executed the explosion has not been known, and police have been intensifying their operation for the same.
Meanwhile, UML’s election assembly has started amid heavy security. Election candidate Dambardhwaj Tumbahamfhe and other officials of UML district committee are set to address the assembly.
The incident site is located five kilometers away from Fungling bazaar, the district headquarters.
In a bid to complete safe and peaceful election for the second time in the history of the world where constituent assembly election should be done once, government has mobilize more than 60, ooo Nepal army personnel and similar amount of Nepal police, Armed police forces and temporary election safety police have been recruited.
Even government had implemented strict rules for parties and public to participate in the campaign and voting process, more than two dozen people are already hospitalized due to clashed and two of the candidates have been murdered before the election.
