APF DIG Ranjan Koirala confesses of killing wife

JAN 22, 2012 KATHMANDU – A husband who suppose to protect his spouse in any circumstances confessed that he was involved to kill his own wife who is staying separated for years.

Not only being separated with the wife and killed but he is a responsible security officer as well. In a murder case of a missing women named Gita Dhakal who was married to DIG Ranjan Koirala of Armed Police force of Nepal. Armed Police Force (APF) DIG Ranjan Koirala has confessed to killing his wife during a police interrogation, sources claim.

A joint team of Kathmandu Police Range and Metropolitan Police Crime Division on Sunday arrested Koirala from Nagdhunga on suspicion of his involvement in the murder. He was entering the Capital from outside the Valley. Koirala’s wife Gita Dhakal had gone missing since January 11. Two days ago police had recovered a body in Palunga of Makwanpur district. Police arrested DIG Koirala based on intelligence inputs that DIG Koirala had reached the incident site.

SSP duo Devendra Subedi and Rajendra Shrestha are interrogating Koirala at Hanumandhoka. Earlier, police had refused to register a case filed by Dhakal’s relatives against Koirala saying that no significant evidence had been found against him. Koirala claimed that they had been living separately for over ten years.

There may have been many reasons to kill the wife but being a law enforcement officer, he have done a crime which would put him behind bar for atleast 20 years and his organization in mistrust by the public.
