UCPN (Maoist) leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the time has come for the two Maoists parties to unite and that he is ready to give up the post of party chairman for the sake of unification .
Hinting at CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya, Dahal said that he is ready to hand over the party chairmanship to the person who in the first place gave him the post of party chairman.
Speaking at an interaction programme titled ‘Building One Communist Center Probabilities and Challenges, Dahal claimed that the rightists have benefited form the split of the two parties.
CPN-Maoist Chairman Baidya, former Maoist leader Matrika Yadav and Mani Thapa were present along with UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal during the programme organised by All Nepal National Independent Students Union- Revolutionary, the student wing of CPN-Maoist.
History has thought the communist in any country that they can’t be together for long time as Nepalese communist are in more than 30 different verse, it is totally based on their ideology that “barga sangarsha” or grouping is always the factor of fraction.
In their recent centeral committe assembly, one group lead by Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has refused to hold any central committee membership over the dissatisfaction of chairman’s ideology or being in chairmanship for another period of time.
That may have make Prachanda to think twice before taking any further party politics as well.
