06 May 2020 Kathmandu – Meeting of Cabinet Ministers held in Kathmandu this afternoon decided to extends lock down period to protect lives from corona virus pandemic until May 18 with some changes in modality.
According to the news released by Finance Minister and spokesperson of the government Youbaraj Khatiwoda government has decided to extend the nationwide lock-down until May 18.

The Cabinet meeting at Baluwatar Wednesday afternoon has decided to extend the lock-down by 11 days, according to a minister.
The government had started imposed nationwide lock-down from March 24 and it has been extended fifth times. The latest was to expire on May 7.
Infection has not increased uncontrollably during the lock-down but it has brought a lot of economic downturn to the people.
There were two cases of infection at the start of lock-down and it has now risen to 82 in around six weeks. Some community traveled from India has brought major numbers of people infected in the far western region and eastern region recently. Kathmandu has strong rules implemented from today to stop any-kind of vehicles accept most important supplies to enter to the capital. No e passes or any other means of public transports to enter in to Kathmandu until further notice as described by home ministry announcement.
