It was just unusual to the traditional Indians what Rakhi Sawant was doing on the Television show. It took more than a month and sixteen grooms participated from different places and different races, and standards. Finally, on 02 August she chooses a groom that she said she loves more than anyone else.
the story follows like this: In ancient India, Swayamwara was a practice of choosing a life partner among a list of suitors by a girl of marriageable age. In this practice, the girl’s father was conducting the Swayamvara. A list of suitors used to arrive at the girl’s home and ask for her hand. After evaluating the completion of various tasks assigned, the girl used to identify the husband of her choice and garland him.
Seeta, Draupadi, Damayanti, and Sanyogita found their husbands in the Swayamwaras. Now Rakhi Sawant has done it! She has recreated the history of Swayamwar by holding a contest on NDTV Imagine in modern style.
For a month, Rakhi Sawant held the ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamwar’, which was aired on NDTV Imagine. A total of sixteen contestants participated in the contest to win the heart of Rakhi Sawant. After participating in various competitions, three finalists were left for Rakhi’s choice. She was all excited to choose her husband.
All the three contestants – Elesh Parujanwala dressed in a white sherwani with silver linings and petha, Manas Katyal and Kshitija Jain dressed in a golden colored sherwani with a lot of embroidery work on it and petha, arrived on the show with their family members. The contestants and their families looked very happy, excited, and nervous.
The show host Ram Kapoor had organized a grand gala marriage ceremony for Rakhi. Even members of NDTV pariwar like Ravi Kishan, Swathi Chitnis, Sudha Shivpuri, and Smitha Mohla looked excited. Among the guests Saroja Khan and Anang Desai were special.
Finally, Ram welcomed all the guests. He invited the three contestants, who looked like Kings, to the stage. Everyone was on their feet to see Rakhi in her bridal dress and to know her decision. Then came Rakhi, who looked like a queen in her bridal dress and jewelry.
Ram allowed the contestants to express their last words before she hangs her ‘Varamala’ to one of them. Everyone promised that they would always be her side and keep her happy throughout life.
Before going to reveal her would-be husband’s name, Rakhi thanked NDTV and its pariwar for providing her a platform to choose her husband. She said, “While taking all the decisions of my life, I have surrendered myself to Lord Ishwar. He has helped me a lot. Now also, I want to pray lord Ishwar and Lord Jesus before taking the biggest decision of life. Along with her friends Anju, Priya, and Hema, Rakhi prayed the god.
Holding her varamala, Rakhi went forward to the three contestants. In order to create more curiosity among them as well as audiences, she made to and promotions. Finally, Rakhi offered ‘Varamala’ to Elesh Parujanwala. She revealed the reason why she has chosen him. She said, “I’ve been watching and examining Elesh from the beginning. His concern for me has been the same onscreen as well as offscreen. I understand that he loves me a lot. I too love him a lot. And I promise that this is not a show and I will be with him once for all.”
And the twist is here:
Rakhi Sawant was Already Married?
In a shocking news Star-News, today revealed that Rakhi Sawant is Already Married to a guy from Millat Nagar (Andheri).
The marriage took place in 2004, soon after she shot her music video Pardesia with T-Series. The man in question had financed that video to a large extent, and if sources are to be believed, his name is Ashraf.
The marriage lasted for barely two-three months. Ashraf was accused of fraud and landed up in jail.
Also, Rakhi found out that he was married and had a kid. A source close to Rakhi, confides in us, “Ashraf used to come on the sets. He used to bring a kid with him. A few people told Rakhi that he could be the father of the kid. The doubts were raised because the man was around 35 years old, and it was quite possible that he had a kid. But Rakhi chose to ignore all the warnings. She was smitten by him.”
“Initially, Rakhi thought that he had too much money. That’s because he would keep a bag full of currency notes of high denominations at home. After the marriage, she found out that only the topmost bundle of notes was real, and the remaining bundles were fake. The marriage took place at Ashraf’s flat,” says another source.
“When her husband was arrested, Rakhi went to see him in jail. His family often asked Rakhi for money. Poor Rakhi would be in a fix. She had been taken for a ride and she just didn’t know what to do. We don’t know how she cut off ties with him but he is definitely not part of her life anymore,” the khabroo adds.
