Kathmandu – Nepal is rich in culture and tradition along with some of the interesting festivals are celebrated throughout the year. In one saying it is said that Nepal has more festivals than days in a year. In such context, Living goddess Kumari located in old palace area of Hanumandhoka, mass worshiped of by various personalities and public including president of Nepal on Thursday.
According to the Indrajatra festival, there is a tradition of worshiping the virgin on the day after the lingo is cut.
Accordingly, the lingo of Indrajatra was installed in Vasantpur on Wednesday and 54 virgins were worshiped in Vasantpur on Thursday.
This year, the last day of Indrajatra falls on Friday. On this day, the government has been giving a public holiday in Kathmandu Valley.
