December 20, 2018 Lahore Pakistan – Recently elected Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Government is progressing with a new initiative to boost its economy by inviting foreign tourist inside the country. Pakistan is preparing to accept tourist on arrival from various countries to travel Pakistan and help rebuild Pakistan for the 21st century modern Islamic state.
According to the various news sources and government websites, In a bid to woo international tourists, Pakistan announced it is considering visa on arrival for 55 countries.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Adviser to the Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood, said that discussions were on and policy was being formulated to allow visa on arrival for 55 countries.
Dawood added that once the policy is in place, it will be presented to Prime Minister Imran Khan in January 2019, according to reports in Geo TV. “We will also consult the country’s security institutions regarding the matter,” he said.
Stressing that Pakistan needs tourism, Dawood said that the government will do whatever is in the interest of the country. Last January, Pakistan announced visa on arrival for group tourists for 24 countries including the US and UK.
It is still not so clear that which are the countries added to the list of on arrival visa category and security of an individual foreigners are the key to success for the agenda.
