Kathmandu August 02, 2010-Prime minister wanted in Nepal as it is preparing for the Election of Prime Minister is taking place for the third time at the legislature parliament today after the previous two elections held on July 21 and 23 failed to elect a Prime Minister.
A meeting of the legislature parliament has been called for 4 pm, Monday at the Constituent Assembly hall, Naya Baneshwar for the election.
Nepali Congress vice president Ram Chandra Poudel and Unified CPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal are vying for the position.
Although CPN (UML) has also filed the proposal to elect its chairman Jhala Nath Khanal to the post of Prime Minister, it will withdraw the proposal before the elections as it did in the previous two elections.
As of now, the election to the post of PM is not likely to yield any result today, too.
UML has already decided to remain neutral in today’s elections, too.
Without support of the UML, the proposal to elect NC candidate as the PM is certain to be defeated.
Unified CPN (Maoist) can win the election if Madhes-based parties support it.
The Madhes-based parties have said they will not stay neutral in the elections today, but have not decided which party to vote.
Meanwhile, Speaker Subash Chandra Nemwang has called a meeting of the legislature parliament’s Business Advisory Committee (BAC) at 3 pm, today to discuss strategy if today’s election also fails to elect a PM.
UPDATE: As till this news was Published all the small parties are willing to stay neutral and not to support any of those candidates as UML the second largest and the ruling government is decided not to vote for any makes parties to go further rounds of talks and consensus to form a new government in Nepal.
