Sarvodaya Nepal (SN), a non-profit NGO registered in America, bagged USD 100,000 through a campaign on Facebook meant for providing educational infrastructure in the community.
SN ranked fifth in online voting through Facebook launched by America based Chase for Charity Distribution. “With 15,784 votes, Sarvodaya stood fifth in the month long voting on Facebook and seized USD 100,000,” said SN’s statement issued Wednesday. (http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/
SN said the fund would be used for enhancing educational and infrastructural facilities of a co-operative school called Jyotidaya, in Chapagaun of Lalitpur district.

“Even though the grant will come from Chase Bank, the school that will be built will stand as a testament of your compassion and willingness to believe in good that is around us,” mentioned the statement.
SN also expressed its gratitude to all Nepalese media for promoting its initiative. “Equally important to the success was the support received from Nepalese media, websites and blogs.
Jyotidaya School, which was established in 2008 is a part of Sarvodaya Nepal, is a local youth run cooperative that provides education to about 300 children in the community.
