PM consults with major parties for passage of full budget

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal confers with leaders of the big parties on…Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Thursday consulted with the leaders of three major parties – Unified CPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML – to present the full budget in Singha Durbar on Thursday.

It is learnt that the leaders have given a ‘positive’ signal regarding early passage of the full budget, but have not reached any concrete decision on it.

Emerging from the meeting, CPN-UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari said that the parties should first give priority to form a new government, before tabling the full budget.

“If the initiatives taken for formation of the government fails, we will again consult with the PM regarding the full budget,” said Adhikari, who is also a former finance minister.
