June 09, 2012 Kathmandu – A helicopter carrying Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai from Dharan to Kathmandu made an emergency landing in Udaypur District after technical problems reported on Saturday evening.
PM Bhattarai’s aide Bishwodeep Pandey, who was traveling with the PM, told reporters that the helicopter was diverted to the Nepal Army barrack at Khulke after technical complications. He said another army helicopter arranged to pick the PM from there today itself.
PM Bhattarai was returning to the capital after attending the convocation ceremony at B.P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
Nepal’s sky and its aviation industry is one of the most dangerous as there are no regular check ups and maintenance of aircraft and proper navigation systems are installed.
