Case filed against 16 accused in Nepalgunj twin murder

November 01, 2010, Kathmandu- Nepal Police have filed a murder case at Banke District Court against 16 accused including a police and a Human Rights Activist on Sunday.

They are accused of murdering two teenage students,  Leeladhar Bhatta and Kapil Dwibedi, after abduction a few months ago.

Government prosecutors have demanded life imprisonment and confiscation of all property of the accused.

The accused include Police Constable Sakir Ali Behana and Human Rights activist C. P. Singh. Behana is already in police custody, while Singh has not been arrested.

Mehraj Ahmed Sai and Suresh Barma are the kingpins of the incident. Police investigations have shown, Mehraj Ahmed Sai executed the abduction and murder, while Barma planned and instructed.

Sai has been arrested, but Barma is still at large.
